The Financial Aid Office strives to make a significant and positive difference in the success of student's education through quality customer service that meets their educational needs, through the efficient and timely processing and delivery of financial aid. We serve 10,000+ students of whom approximately 85% receive some form of financial assistance. The Financial Aid Office is responsible for administering $40+ million annually in federal, state, institutional and private sources of grants, loans, scholarship and work-study for the UAF main campus and six branch campuses. A Financial Aid Advisor at the UAF Community and Technical College is a critical position to support the needs of students. The position provides student service through advising and counseling students, on various financial aid processes as well outreach activities. The CTC financial aid advisor works with students on a daily basis on and off campus to ensure the university remains within the established federal guidelines. The advisor also assists students on FAFSA inquiries, budget or tax corrections, and entrance loan counseling and verification inquiries.

The Financial Aid Office receives thousands of applications and awards millions of grants, loans and scholarships. Financial Aid Advisors work with students and their families to assist with applications and provide guidance on how to afford to attend the university, while maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations.

Applicants will need strong customer service skills to walk students through complicated, multi-step processes. The ability to understand regulations and make decisions to support students while maintaining compliance is a necessary skill.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in relevant field or an equivalent.

Position Details:

This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position located at the UAF Community and Technical College (CTC), complete with both a competitive salary and https://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/support/prospectiveemployees.php. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage.
