Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium has a hiring preference for qualified Alaska Native and American Indian applicants pursuant to P.L. 93-638 Indian Self Determination Act.
Specifically coordinates clinical systems change for Alaska Native Tribal Health System. Builds capacity for tribal health organizations and communities to develop comprehensive tobacco treatment programs.
Manages comprehensive tobacco treatment and clinical training activities as assigned by Program Manager. Serves as central clinical resource to tribal customers statewide and provides tobacco cessation counseling. Collaborates with federal, state, tribal or private agencies to provide resources for tribal comprehensive tobacco cessation treatment programming.
Provides technical assistance and medical provider training in tribal health organization staff. Prepares analyses and presents clinical data to report to medical leadership and ANTHC board as requested. Presents program materials to instruct and educate patients, medical staff, administration, board members, professional and non-clinical staff on comprehensive tobacco cessation programming.
Assists in development of EHR reports for tobacco specific data collection and analyses data on program impact. Participates in workgroups and committees on tobacco control as assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Knowledge of tobacco related medical research concepts and techniques.

Knowledge of grant funding requirements, guidelines, reporting and principles.
Knowledge of training and education techniques.
Knowledge of customer service concepts and practices.
Skill in assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands.
Skill in compiling and analyzing data and identifying needs.
Skill in researching, reading, interpreting and writing technical documentation.
Skill in grant writing and project management including data collection, analysis, reporting and evaluation.
Skill in making complex decisions regarding comprehensive nicotine treatment programming.
Skill in oral and written communication.
Skill in working independently and as a team.
Skill in operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of software applications.
MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATION
Bachelor’s degree in a health related field. Progressively responsible professional/exempt work experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for college education.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION
Non-Supervisory- Four (4) years of health program or wellness experience. An equivalent combination of relevant education and/or training may be substituted for experience.
PREFFERED CERTIFICATION
Nicotine Dependence Treatment certification preferred.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
May be required to work outside the traditional work schedule.
May be called out to work off-shift in emergency situations.
May be required to work outside the traditional work schedule. Travel required. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
