Operates heavy equipment on various construction projects.   

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate heavy equipment in an efficient and productive manner
  • Follow company safety regulations and procedures.
  • Complete daily walk around inspections
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Ability and willingness to abide by the company’s code of conduct, policies and procedures.
  • Comply, understand, and support the company’s safety culture to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Understanding and sensitivity to the Inupiat culture.
  • Ability to read and understand documents such as safety rules and manuals, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to identify construction conflicts and notify supervisor
  • Ability to meet assigned deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Three (3) years’ experience operating civil/heavy construction equipment. 
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. 
  • Current or ability to obtain MSHA Certification as required by the position. 
  • Ability to work overtime as needed, including work on holidays and weekends. 

 

Preferred

  • Commercial driver’s license.

The work environment is in a busy construction setting.  The noise level in the work environment is usually varies. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and may be required to travel in small and large commercial aircraft.
