2024 TKC Summer Internship Opportunity (2) Positions
Internship description: This is a Natural Resources & Subsistence Stewardship Internship based out of Aniak
Interns will work with the TKC Rural Outreach and Foundation’s Department gathering Community Based Harvest data, attend different Kuskokwim River management meetings to understand the fisheries management process along the river, and assist in our education/workforce department.
Interns will also work with the Native Village of Napaimute’s environmental department, learning and assisting in their different environmental management projects. This work will require multiple day stays at a remote fisheries weir.
There will also be outreach trips to our TKC villages connecting our interns to the shareholders and villages we serve and introducing them to the different community projects we are partnering on.
This internship will be a 6-week program, starting June 19th and ending August 4th, 2024.
Lodging & meal stipend will be provided
Qualifications:
Must be 16 years of age and older
Must be a TKC Shareholder
You do not need to be enrolled in a college or vocational program
You do not need to be an Alaska Resident
