Graphic Designer Internship with Aleut Federal

About the Internship:

We're looking for a passionate and creative individual to join our team as a Graphic Artist Intern!  In this internship – as a rising sophomore / junior – you’ll gain valuable experience working alongside members of the broader Aleut team on a variety of real-world design projects geared towards business development and branding / marketing efforts.  You'll take on tasks like concept development, design execution, and project management.  At the end of the day, this is a fantastic opportunity to learn real world work skills and build your portfolio all the while having a great time!  

Basic Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled as a rising sophomore / rising junior in a graphic design, visual communication, marketing, or related field of study.
• Able to furnish a short, written recommendation from an instructor of an applicable course / applicable courses.
• Strong portfolio showcasing your design abilities and creativity.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
• Understanding of design principles, including color theory, typography, and layout.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and time management skills.
• Ability to take initiative, be a quick learner, and work well independently and as part of a team.
• Did I already say that the most successful candidate will readily demonstrate the ability to take initiative?
• Possess an intermediate-level knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Nice to have Qualifications:
• Ability to incorporate generative Artificial Intelligence – like Firefly, Articulate, Sora, MidJourney, Canva, etc. – into their graphic efforts.
• Candidates with video creation and / or editing capability for marketing purposes will be afforded expedited consideration.
