DUTIES:

 

Performs a wide range of warehousing activities, including receiving, storing, and shipping merchandise.  Receives, unloads, and processes incoming shipments/trucks.  Reports over, short, or damaged conditions.  Understands space issues and shrinking and expanding warehouse areas as needed. Completes and signs shipping and receiving reports.  Routes merchandise to correct locations or storage areas.  Stacks, rotates, and marks/prices stock in accordance with standard warehouse procedures.  Counts types and quantities of items during inventories.  Recounts or searches other storage locations to assist in determining the basis for over, short, or misplaced items. 

 

Receives work through written and oral instructions that are clear and concise.  Work may be checked in progress or on completion for compliance and adherence to instructions and directives.

 

Performs housekeeping tasks such as cleaning floors, fixtures, etc., as needed in the areas assigned.  Assists in the taking of inventories at required intervals.

 

Duties may also include minor maintenance and miscellaneous duties to ensure the facility is maintained in a healthy, safe, and sanitary manner.

 

Welcome customers and maintain product knowledge. React to all concerns of customers quickly.  Communicate information regarding product availability. Uphold predefined customer services standards.

 

Comply with established safety standards, emergency preparedness requirements and all policies regarding loss prevention.  Be aware and proactive regarding shrink.

 

Perform other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Minimum:

  1. Must be able to read and comprehend English and write legibly.  Must be able to apply basic math skills. 
  2. Must be able to frequently lift and carry supplies, materials and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.  Usually works indoors, and occasionally out.  Exposed to possibility of cuts, scrapes, and bruises.

Preferred: (In addition to the minimum qualifications):

  1. Experience: handling, storing, and shipping materials or supplies; operating material handling equipment; accessing information on a computer; reviewing documents for accuracy and completeness as evidenced by 1-year equivalent experience as a warehouse worker 3 in a retail environment.
