Minimum Qualifications:

 

Education and/or Experience: Any combination of education and experience which clearly demonstrates the skills and abilities necessary to accomplish the essential functions of the job. May require a current valid driver's license, must meet UA safe driving requirements. Must undergo a criminal history background check; and have the ability to follow instructions both written and verbal in the English language and the ability to complete required forms, paperwork, and time sheets.

 

To be eligible for student employment, an applicant must:

 

A.) Be enrolled in the University of Alaska system with a minimum of six credit hours in the current semester of employment; or

 

B.) Have been enrolled the preceding semester for six or more credit hours and demonstrate plans to enroll for six or more credit hours in the next semester for employment between semesters; and

 

C.) Have at least a minimum 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA).

 

D.) An applicant must provide evidence of enrollment as outlined above to substantiate employment eligibility.

 

University Housing - Student Custodial Assistant

 

Student Assistant 2 - $16.15/hour

 

Campus Services is responsible for all business and facility aspects of UAA's residential campus in UAA's residential community. This includes 18 residential and non-residential buildings across campus.

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform a variety of custodial duties to ensure exceptional in-house custodial service. Must be focused on customer service and committed to providing our students and guests with an attractive, clean, and healthy educational environment. This position is under frequent supervision and will receive assignments with detailed instructions. Progress will be checked regularly.

General Duties:

 

• Keep buildings in clean and orderly condition, including, but not limited to, trash removal, spraying, and other general cleaning.

• Remove hazards from buildings including debris and other items as required.

• Use work orders, including computerized systems, to maintain inventories and issue materials. Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins and performs periodic inventories.

• Remove trash from rooms and buildings; perform floor maintenance including, sweeping, mopping, carpet cleaning, etc.

• Clean windows, doors and other horizontal and vertical surfaces.

• Sanitize and clean restrooms, food service areas, and common areas in residence buildings.

• Other duties as assigned.
