To succeed in this role you will need to have the:

 

Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, with various people, including students, employees, and faculty.

Ability to accurately perform mathematical calculations.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form.

Ability to perform all essential functions using safe work methods and following safety regulations relating to the job.

 

Duties include:

- Perform routine laboratory and general clerical tasks necessary for the daily operation of the laboratory.

- Collect, prepare, clean, and store glassware and other lab equipment.

- Stock and prepare media, reagents, chemical solutions, and stains.

- Receive, log, label, and batch specimens delivered to the laboratory. Sort and organize specimens.

- Maintain records and files.

- Maintain a safe and clean laboratory.

- Provide support to other members of the lab.

 

No previous experience is required.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Students must be registered in six credits or more and have a 2.0 GPA in the previous or upcoming academic semester. Classes do not need to be taken during the summer.

 

Position Details:

 

This position is located on the PWSC campus in Valdez. This is a part-time, non-exempt student position.

 

This is a pooled position, which means that the position remains open over the entire academic year.
