Copy Cataloger

University of Alaska System

The UAA/APU Consortium Library is recruiting a Library Technician 3: Copy Cataloger to work on-site in our Anchorage campus library. We are seeking a library worker with experience using OCLC Connexion software and an Integrated Library System. Please consider applying if you have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and good English language and communication skills.

As a Copy Cataloger at the UAA/APU Consortium Library, you will join a strong, behind-the-scenes team that acquires, prepares, and provides access to all library materials. Be among the first to handle the library's newest items, from books to CDs to DVDs. You will use OCLC Connexion and SirsiDynix Workflows daily and work in the most beautiful building on campus.

To thrive in this role you will use your critical thinking skills to assess the item in hand. Strong attention to detail is essential, as the person in this position needs to identify the correct item record from the other 549 million titles in the OCLC bibliographic database and ensure that another of the 88 Alaska Library Catalog libraries has not already added that record to the shared catalog. Timely and accurate cataloging ensures that our library users -- primarily students and faculty -- find the information they seek when they need it.
