The Office of University Advancement and UAA Athletics is seeking applicants for the Development Officer, Athletics. This is a shared position between University Advancement Development and the Athletics Departments. The role of this position is a major gifts officer with

additional high-end annual giving responsibilities, who provides community outreach for athletics. The incumbent shall be expected to

regularly utilize the Athletic Director for donor cultivation and relationship management. UAA Athletics serves the Anchorage and campus

communities by fielding competitive NCAA teams and providing recreational opportunities for students, faculty, and staff. The University Advancement Development team is dedicated to increasing understanding of and support for UAA.

 

This position requires a willingness to average 30-40 prospect and donor visits quarterly. It is expected that 60% of the incumbent's time be spent with or working on gift prospects.

 

To successfully carry out these objectives, this position is expected to have the seasoned interpersonal skills and abilities necessary to successfully interact with diverse public and academic constituencies including prominent citizens, elected officials, CEOs and major prospective donors as well as with University administration, faculty, staff and students. The incumbent is expected to be articulate both in speaking and writing to public audiences and be able to motivate, lead and work well with others in support of UAA and Seawolf Athletics.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Bachelor's degree in relevant field with a minimum of two years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience. 2-5 years of development or revenue generation experience.

 

A valid driver's license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria is required.

 

Position Details:

 

This position is located on the Anchorage campus in Anchorage, Alaska. This is a full-time, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and https://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/support/prospectiveemployees.php.
