• Must be able to use Microsoft and Google suite applications.

 

• Able to lift and carry 15 pounds.

• A commitment of one full academic year (or the remainder of such at the time of hire) Typical Experience: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

• Applicants must have a cumulative and semester grade point average of 2.0 or above at the time of application and start date.

--If a successful candidate enters the position with a cumulative or semester grade point average below 2.0, the RA will be placed on Residence Life Academic Probation. The RA will have one semester to raise their cumulative and semester grade point average to 2.0 or above in order to remain employed in the RA role.

 

• Graduate Teaching Assistants are not eligible for RA positions due to time commitments.

 

• Applicants must have unrestricted employment authorization in the United States.

 

• Applicants must complete all UAF employee Required Training (including Safety training, Title IX, Protection of minors, Campus Security Authority, and FERPA) within two weeks of their hire date.

 

• At the time of hire, applicants must have applied for housing through the Department of Residence Life and paid any application fees. Preference is given to applicants with a minimum of two semesters of community living experience prior to their term of employment. Required Education or Training:

 

• Must be a full-time student at UAF (12 undergraduate credits / 9 graduate credits).

• All applicants will have their university student conduct record reviewed, and this review will be taken into consideration during the application/interview process.

• Must be available to maintain a schedule that ensures student contact, particularly during evening hours and weekends. Must be available to work for the duration of the RA contract period. Contract dates are subject to change.

 

Salary Information:

This is a student position. Starting wage is $13.03/hr with a stipend of $364.84.

Special Instructions to Applicants:

While in a student position, a student employee cannot hold any other type of simultaneous employment with the university, (some examples of other types of non-compatible employment are regular or temporary staff, adjunct position, etc.
