In your capacity as a Student Union Student Manager, you will hold a pivotal position overseeing aspects of the Student Union's operations. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of crucial tasks, such as coordinating event needs, including furniture and audio/visual setup, facilitating client communication and service delivery, stocking and tracking inventory at our coffee and convenience shops, and maintaining the aesthetics of our overall facility.
To thrive in this role, it is essential to demonstrate self-motivation and integrity. This position is inherently autonomous, frequently requiring independent work without constant supervision. Ensuring exceptional customer service for our clients and meeting routine building requirements is of utmost importance. Additionally, you will maintain a detailed record of building incidents and occurrences, as well as task completion.
Minimum Qualifications:
To be eligible for student employment in Student Life & Leadership, an applicant must: a. Be enrolled in the University of Alaska system with a minimum of six credit hours in the current semester of employment or b. Have been enrolled the preceding semester for six or more credit hours and demonstrate plans to enroll for six or more credit hours in the next semester for employment between semesters; and c. Have at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) or approval from the MAU Senior Student Services officer or his/her designee. d. Students enrolled in non-traditional programs of study will be considered eligible for student employment with the approval of the Senior Student Services officer. e. An applicant must provide evidence of enrollment as outlined above to substantiate employment eligibility.
Candidates must be flexible to work early mornings (6:45 am), late evenings (11 pm), and/or weekends (Saturday and/or Sunday).
Candidates must be available for training prior to the beginning of the fall and spring semesters.
Preferred Experience:
• Possess prior supervision experience.
• Possess prior customer service experience.
Position Details:
This is a Student Assistant 2 position paying $12.77 per hour.
