The University of Alaska Anchorage School of Social Work (SSW) is growing and we are recruiting for a Student Engagement and Admissions Specialist to help fulfil the School's mission of increasing student enrollment. This position will support student recruitment, admissions management, student outreach, and student engagement.

As the Student Engagement and Admissions Specialist with the School of Social Work, you will help grow the social work profession in Alaska. In this role, you will recruit students for the BSW and MSW programs and take the lead in managing the application files. To help foster an inclusive and welcoming environment in the School, you will develop programming and opportunities for social work students, including working with prospective employers to connect them to students. You are comfortable with program assessment and value the use of data to drive your efforts.

To thrive in this role, you must enjoy working with students and in an academic setting. You need to be able to answer the questions "What is social work?" and "What opportunities are there for social workers?" You should feel comfortable talking with students, faculty, staff, community partners, and prospective applicants. You should like both creating events and working on your computer to manage files and write reports. You should be okay with occasional travel for recruitment or other community-based events.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor of Social Work degree, and three years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Preferred:
Master of Social Work degree; Experience in higher education

Position Details:

This position is located on the University of Alaska Anchorage campus, but flexible on-site/hybrid work arrangements may be considered in accordance with UA regulations. This is a full-time, term-funded, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and https://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/support/prospectiveemployees.php. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage.
