Come join an award winning program at ANSEP. We are recruiting for a Student Success Coordinator to support our Acceleration Academy components.

ANSEP is seeking a Student Success Coordinator to help support our Acceleration Academy in Anchorage. ANSEP Acceleration Academy is a dual enrollment program on the University of Alaska Anchorage's campus that supports 9th-12th grade students who are working to earn two years or more in college credits before they graduate from high school. Within the Acceleration Academy, the ANSEP Student Success Coordinator position plays a pivotal role in supporting the academic and personal development of students. This position is responsible for academic advising, promotion and outreach, support services, student academic and social activities, departmental duties and more. The coordinator works closely with students, Youth Peer Mentors, and ANSEP Directors to ensure students receive the guidance and resources they need to excel academically and personally. This role also involves program promotion, student support services, data analysis, and coordinator of various aspects related to student success within the ANSEP program.

To excel in this position, the candidate should possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, as they will be advising and mentoring students. They should have a deep understanding of academic advising, university policies, and FERPA regulation. The candidate should be capable of creating promotional materials and engaging in outreach activities to promote ANSEP components effectively, have excellent organizational skills, the ability to handle student support services, and the capacity to analyze data to plan strategically. The candidate should also be a responsible employee under Title IX and stay current with annual training.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's degree and one year relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience with pre-college residential programs.
Must be 21 years of age or older
Knowledge of the University environment.
Public speaking skills.
Ability to comprehend and apply university policies and procedures as they relate to students. Ability to communicate effectively in person and in writing.
Ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Aptitude for comprehending another's situation.

Position Details:

This position is located on the UAA campus in Anchorage. This is a full-time, term-funded, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and https://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/support/prospectiveemployees.php. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the https://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/compensation/files/fy24_staff_salary_grid.pdf, Grade 77, based on education and experience.

This position may require driving an ANSEP vehicle. A valid AK driver's license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria is required.
