Requisition# 19000531 - Multi-Skilled Heavy Equipment Operator - Pt. Thomson
The Multi-Skilled Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment to support O&M operations of roads, pads, and airstrip at the Pt. Thomson field.
This position reports directly to the Equipment Foreman. The Multi-Skilled Heavy Equipment Operator will be required to operate all equipment on the job site including: tractor-trailers, lowboy trailers, front-end loaders along with many attachments, zoom boom, snow blowers, motor grader, excavator, skid steer, vac truck, potable and grey water vac trucks. The Multi-Skilled Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for performing road / pad / airstrip maintenance during both winter / summer conditions. The ability to successfully complete daily walk-around inspections of tractor-trailer and/or equipment, load inspections, and properly securing equipment weighing up to 125,000 pounds. Inspect all load-securing devices. This will be a multi-skilled position with the ability to support many varying daily tasks required by the project. The ability and willingness to operate the required piece of equipment for the respective job for the day will be the key to the success of both the position and the project. Other duties may be assigned as business needs require. Point Thomson is a remote location, consisting of an initial small work force to support operations. The employee’s ability and willingness to support work outside of their normal duties, are sometimes required. Most importantly the successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work in a multi-skilled role helping where needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (AND OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED)
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High-school diploma or GED. Minimum five years of Heavy Equipment Operating experience is required. Experience shall be related to road maintenance and utility industry. Experience in the oil and gas industry and in the arctic environment preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS
Current DOT medical card and Class A commercial driver’s license with tanker and HAZMAT endorsements required. Driving record must meet Company requirements and North Slope Training Cooperative certification may be required.
