Position Summary:
UAA General Support Services is seeking a creative and energetic marketing specialist to join our team! This position is responsible for creating and implementing marketing plans and promotions for all areas within General Support Services to include Copy & Print Center, Mailroom, Surplus, Recycling, and Parking Services. Website management, social media, print publications, promotional events and more provide our marketing specialist with a wide array of tools to tell our story!

Duties:
10Training and supervision of student assistant(s). Delegation of tasks to include routine website/social media updates, scanning, archiving, distribution of materials, and other duties as deemed appropriate.Essential 20Data, Analytics, and Assessment: Develop and implement strategies for analysis of marketing efforts (data analytics, surveys, etc). Includes assessment of current and potential marketing strategies, return on investment of various strategies, and evaluation of the effectiveness of marketing efforts.Essential 30Digital Content Development & Management: Oversee development, monitoring, and maintenance of General Support Services and Parking Services websites and social media sites (may include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, blogs, YouTube). Develop coordinated web presence and social media presence that are consistent with the overall UAA standards and align with departmental marketing plans and strategic plans.Essential 40Marketing and Promotion: Develop and present annual departmental marketing plans to General Support Services and Parking Services directors. Establish appropriate and effective marketing strategies for products and services to enhance revenue generation. Conceptualize projects, clearly communicating timelines and budget impacts & requests. Develop appropriate promotional materials for the units to include printed publications, direct mailings, digital content, and other materials, working with graphic designers as needed. Ensure all materials are compliant with UAA image standards. Placement of approved ads with media outlets. Ensure proper usage and placement of designs and materials provided by contract partners. Serve as primary point of contact for marketing efforts with University Advancement, other university departments, and external partners/vendors. Participate on councils and committees as deemed appropriate.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to effectively market products and services.
Excellent communicator and creative thinker, with an ability to use data to inform all decisions.
Exceptional writing and editing skills, as well as the ability to adopt the style, tone, and voice of various types of content.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
Substantial interpersonal skills (written and verbal), with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with colleagues, supervisors, stakeholders, vendors, and the UAA community.

Typical Experience:
Minimum one year professional experience in successful development and implementation of marketing plans and strategies. Experience must include administration of social media in a business environment, placement/buying of media advertisements, and demonstrated use of basic design software.

Required Education or Training:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business Management, Communication, Journalism or related discipline or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Valid Alaska driver's license or ability to obtain one within 60 days of hire. Must be able to meet UA Safe Driver criteria.

Salary Information:

This is a part-time, (60 hours per pay period), term-funded, 12-month, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and https://alaska.edu/jobs/benefits.php.
