Summary:

Under direct supervision of the Manager of Customer Experience, provides customer service to patients, visitors and public.

 

Responsibilities:

Provides customer services to patients, visitors, and public.  Greets customers, families and visitors in a professional manner and determines needs. Functions  as  first  point-of-contact for directing customers to medical and health related services. 

Answers questions about hospital organization, providers and locations; serves as a resource person and provides accurate information and directions for hospital, clinics, programs and services.

Demonstrates supportive attitude toward customers, families, visitors and/or staff. Communicates effectively and tactfully with customers, families and visitors recognizing their age, needs, abilities and physical condition.

Performs routine driving and transporting services by transporting customers to and from the Airport, ANMC, Quyana Customer Care’s over-flow hotels and Alaska Regional Hospital in a prompt, friendly, and safe manner. Provide excellent customer service.  Demonstrate professional driving skills at all times. 

Documents passenger’s usage of shuttle services.  Maintains established departmental policies, procedures, and objective, quality assessment and improvement programs, safety, environmental and infection control standards.

Maintain the vehicle and drives to designated service station(s) for maintenance, repair and refueling. Maintains care, including cleaning inside and outside of the vehicles. Monitors usage, mileage, and repair/maintenance schedules and reports to fleet manager.

Provides suggestions to management to improve overall quality and day to day operations. Reports all unsafe conditions to appropriate supervisor including change in patient status, broken or malfunctioning equipment or anything that could be potential threat or danger to a resident.

Performs other duties as required.

MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATION

A high school diploma or GED equivalent.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION

Non-supervisory - Two (2) years professional driving experience.  An equivalent combination of relevant education and/or training may be substituted for experience.

MINIMUM CERTIFICATION QUALIFICATION

·         Must possess valid State of Alaska Driver’s License and Class C CDL prior to employment.

·         Within 90 days of the hire date, must possess all of the following:

o    Defensive Driving and Safety Certification identified by ANTHC

o    Passenger Assistance Safety and Securement Certification

o    CDL Passenger Endorsement

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION

Ability to speak an Alaska Native language is preferred.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

·         Must be at least 23 years of age. Must have clean driving record as defined by ANTHC’s insurance requirements.

·         Will be required to sign a release annually for ANTHC to obtain a current driving record.
