Investment and Treasury Analyst


Under the general supervision of the CEO, with input from other company leadership, this position will plan, develop and coordinate the preparation of investment analyses and reports including, but not limited to, asset class review and analysis, review of investment manager performance, statistical analysis, portfolio analysis and other financial information; perform complex and specialized assignments; create policies and procedures; and compile, analyze and report on the investment performance of Sealaska Corporation investment fund.  Duties are performed to improve the operational effectiveness of Sealaska Corporation investment funds.

Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop and coordinate the preparation of investment analyses and reports including but not limited to, investment cash flows, investment performance review, statistical analysis, investment manager reviews, new investment manager research and analysis, including preparation of investment recommendations to the CIO and to the Finance Committee. Asset class analysis and general investment market analysis.
  • Maintains an up-to-date list of all Sealaska Corporation investment accounts, with proper signers of each account. Revises all account documents as appropriate and prepares related correspondence for the CIO.
  • Reviews all private investment manager quarterly performance and portfolio updates.
  • Develop financial reports for cash flow forecasting for the investment funds.
  • Interpret financial transactions and events for management, as well as create policies and procedures for financial transactions in coordination with the accounting department.
  • Fill out all investment manager documentation and private investment subscription documents; verify documents for completeness and compliance with government and Sealaska rules regulation and procedures.
  • Use various software applications, such as spreadsheets, relational databases, statistical packages, and graphics packages to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or reports.
  • Assist tin the development, implementation and management of Sealaska relationship with our investment custodian, assuring appropriate fee structure and effectiveness of transactions.
  • Assist the President and CEO or Chief Investment Officer with other duties and projects as assigned, which include treasury and banking duties as well as analysis and performance reporting for Sealaska’s investment funds.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Familiarity of financial analyses methods, accounting procedures, and financial statements.
  • Knowledge of statistical theory, techniques, and methods including the significance of various statistical measures and the methods used in presenting statistical data.
  • Advanced proficiency in computer programs including Excel, word processing, accounting software.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret statistical data.
  • Ability to determine and respond to the needs of data users.
  • Ability to present conclusions in written and graphic form and ability to verbally explain the information presented to any user.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment, i.e. Xerox, fax & postage machines, 10-key calculator, paper shredder, etc.
  • Ability to deal with highly sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to exercise a high degree of professionalism, sensitivity and tact, in all contacts with the public and associates, including high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to prioritize work, to be self-motivated, and to work under pressure.
  • Must have good organizational skills.
  • Must be accurate, detailed and thorough, with good communication and writing skills.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, business administration, or related field
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize Microsoft Office products
  • Work experience in the investment field is preferred
