Job Title:          Tribal Opioid Response Caseworker

Department:    Health & Social Services

Reports to:        Health & Social Services Assistant Director

 

Position Summary:

The Tribal Opioid Response (TOR) Caseworker provides ongoing support in case-management, access to recovery support and ongoing living support to individuals in the community who are experiencing Substance Use Disorder (SUD). In collaboration with CVTC’s H&SS Director, H&SS Assistant Director, Tribal Opioid Response Case Manager, TOR Caseworker, the Behavioral Health Program, and other local resources, the TOR Caseworker provides motivational and trauma informed interviewing; guidance with community living skills; and social, emotional and recovery support to participants in regaining balance and control of their lives while recovering from substance misuse. Additional duties include: transportation of clients, participating in team treatment meetings, facilitating groups, conducting home visits, and providing ongoing general support. The TOR Caseworker will be responsible for maintaining accurate, timely and compliant documentation, and program data. The TOR Caseworker is an active role model of wellness and recovery for participants and provides compassionate care and professional client advocacy. This is a full-time, 40 hour per week benefited position.

 

Qualifications:

Education:

High School Diploma or GED. Preferably has successfully completed a Chemical Dependency Counselor 1 training or is willing to obtain once hired by CVTC.

 

Experience:

A minimum of six to 12 months of experience providing support with recovery related services and case management to those experiencing SUD is preferred. The successful applicant must have excellent problem-solving skills for appropriate and effective client case conceptualization and treatment and work well independently as well as with a team. The successful applicant is required to utilize basic office equipment, computers, and vehicles for performing home visits as needed.

Must have valid Alaska Driver’s License and be insurable by CVTC’s vehicle insurance policy.

New hires for this position are subject to pre-hire and random alcohol/drug testing.

 

A federal and state background check is required for this position. Background checks are  conducted every two years as a condition of employment.
