General Functions:

The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst is a senior individual contributor position that prepares the financial statements for CITC and subsidiaries as well as monthly and adhoc financial reporting for internal departments, managers and leadership. This position serves as a subject matter expert and technical resource for the Finance Department. Reporting to the Senior Director of Accounting and working closely with the management team and processors, this role performs troubleshooting and problem-solving duties of a diverse scope for financial reporting and grant compliance. This position plays a key role in supporting departmental initiatives by evaluating existing financial processes to ensure that current and future business needs are met.   In support of the organization's financial and compliance planning decisions, this role will periodically inspect implemented workflow for conformity with GAAP and grant requirements, and provide audit support to senior finance management.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements
  • Prepare and review financial reporting for the Board of Directors, interal departments and committiees. 
  • Provide analytical support to senior management to evaluate existing financial data capture processes and recommendations for workflow improvement.
  • Lead implementation of process modification and suggests changes to policy and procedures.
  • Create processes to capture relevant financial information for new investments and expanding operations and provides training on these processes to department staff.
  • Periodically performs internal systems audits and reports findings to senior management.
  • Perform research and analysis for technical GAAP matters and compliance requirements for Federal and State grants.
  • Serves as backup for other senior accounting management positions as requested.
  • Assist with the development, preparation, and presentation of materials to external auditors for financial audits and single audits. 
  • Maintain a high degree of sensitivity regarding confidential information.
  • Other duties as needed and assigned.


Job Level Specifications:

  • Thorough knowledge and application of generally accepted accounting principles,theories, and concepts related to accounting functions, federal and state grant requirements and pertinent federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations. 
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with a particular emphasis on the presentation of financial material to a variety of audiences.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong and effective independent judgment to make decisions, plan, prioritize and organize a complex workload, and recommend changes and improvements to business practices or procedures. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead work groups and provide technical guidance, support, and training.
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities and ensure work is completed timely and accurately to meet internal and external deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and also work well with a team.


Minimum Core Competencies:  CITC Values, Professionalism, Emotional Intelligence, Problem Solving/Critical Thinking, Communication Skills. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors' Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
  • Five years of increasingly responsible high volume experience working within an accounting environment.
  • Three years of experience auditing or managing Federal and State grants.  
  • Three years of experience as a project lead.
  • Continued employment is contingent upon a satisfactory report from a state and federal background check.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA, CMA, or CGMA license 
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience using Microsoft Great Plains, Sage Intacct, and ADP
  • Experience auditing Federal and State grants.
  • Experience auditing or managing SBA 8(a) government contracts
  • Supervisory experience
